USCIS Resuming Premium Processing for H-1B Extensions

DSCN1775On May 26, 2015, USCIS temporarily suspended its 15-day premium processing service for Form I-129 H-1B extension of stay petitions. The purpose of this suspension was to allow the agency to implement its final rule regarding employment authorization for certain H-4 spouses.
While USCIS originally suspended the premium processing service until July 27, 2015, the agency announced yesterday that it would once again resume the service for H-1B extension of stay petitions. All H-1B extension of stay petitions requesting this service between May 26, 2015 and July 12, 2015 were rejected by USCIS.
Since the May 26 suspension, USCIS has implemented a new version of Form I-907, Request for Premium Processing Service (edition date: 01/29/2015). All H-1B extension of stay petitions must now include this new form version, or the petition will be rejected.
Pending H-1B extension applications may now be upgraded to premium processing by filing the appropriate application and fee.
