"Ready Lane" at Peace Bridge Speeds Inspection Process

With the spring travel season upon us, we would like to remind you that Customs and Border Protection (“CBP”) offers a “Ready Lane” to certain individuals.
Motorists possessing Radio Frequency Identification (“RFID”) technology-enabled passports, enhanced drivers licenses, new permanent resident cards, and NEXUS, SENTRI or FAST program cards implanted within WHTI travel documents, may take advantage of an expedited inspection process offered through exclusive lanes of traffic.
When approaching the inspection area, passengers over the age of 16, who possess one of the above-listed travel documents must hold them up with the flat front face of the card towards the driver’s side windows.  The RFID-enabled cards will be read automatically while the vehicle proceeds slowly to the inspection booth.  The CBP Officer will then proceed with the verbal inspection process.
