Rosanna Berardi to Present at AILA’s 6th Annual Canada/U.S. Border Immigration Conference

The American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) will host the 6th annual Canada/U.S. Border Immigration Fall Conference in Buffalo, N.Y., on Oct. 17, and among this year’s presenters will be Berardi Immigration Law’s Managing Partner, Rosanna Berardi. The AILA conference gives leading immigration lawyers and other professionals the opportunity to discuss and analyze substantive and practical issues in Canadian and U.S. border immigration.
This year the conference will focus on the intersection of U.S. and Canadian immigration law, as well as the celebration of NAFTA’s 20th anniversary. For those unfamiliar, the North American Free Trade Agreement was created in 1994, setting free rules of trade and investment between the U.S., Canada and Mexico.
Ms. Berardi will be presenting during the conference’s first topic of discussion, “Canada/U.S. Border Update: Practice & Policy in the U.S.” The session will focus on new trends and developments in border practice, changes in eligibility, the effects of information sharing on crossings, and more. Ms. Berardi will be speaking on NAFTA guidelines, particularly regarding the L-1 visa category.
Ms. Berardi has been chosen to present due to her prolific experience in U.S. immigration law. She has been practicing at the U.S./Canadian border for more than 17 years and has helped thousands of clients successfully achieve their immigration goals. Ms. Berardi also has a unique perspective on immigration law, having previously worked as an immigration inspector at the Peace Bridge, a legal intern in the INS’s District Office, and as a full-time trial attorney in the INS’s New York City Office.
The AILA conference is expected to be attended by more than 100 legal professionals from the United States and Canada. It will take place at The Buffalo Club on historic “Millionaire’s Row” in downtown Buffalo.
