Immigrant Fee Payment Process Simplified

Immigrant Fee Payment Process Simplified3
U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has recently simplified the process for paying the USCIS Immigrant Fee online in its electronic immigration system. The revised immigrant fee payment process reduces the amount of information necessary for an immigrant to provide to USCIS. In response to customer feedback, anyone can now pay the USCIS Immigrant Fee for an immigrant. This includes family members, friends, employers, attorneys or accredited representatives, as long as they have the immigrant’s Alien Registration Number (A-Number) and Department of State Case ID Number.
The USCIS Immigrant Fee is required for individuals immigrating to the United States from out of the country as lawful permanent residents. The immigrant must pay the fee before entering the U.S. The fee is $165 per applicant and helps to recover USCIS costs related to immigrant visas granted by the U.S. Department of State at U.S. Embassies and Consulates. The fee covers the cost of processing, filing and maintaining immigrant visa packets, plus the cost of producing the Permanent Resident Cards.
