BREAKING NEWS – Bipartisan Framework for Comprehensive Immigration Reform

Senators from both sides of the aisle are expected to participate in a press conference at 2:30 pm today “to provide a key update on their discussions on a comprehensive immigration reform bill,” according to a release from Sen. Marco Rubio office.
Senators Schumer (D- NY), McCain (R-AZ), Durbin (D-IL), Graham (R-SC), Menendez (D – NJ), Rubio (R-FL), Bennet (D-CO) and Flake (R-AZ) are part of a bipartison group of Senators who have reached an agreement on the principles of sweeping legislation to rewrite U.S. Immigration Laws.  The “Bipartisan Framework for Comprehensive Immigration Reform” contains four basic legislative pillars which include:

  1. Creating a path to citizenship for unauthorized immigrants already here that is contingent upon securing the border and combating visa overstays;
  2. Improving our legal immigration system and attracting the world’s best and brightest;
  3. Strong Employment Verification; and
  4. Admitting new workers and protecting workers’ rights.
